Back to School

Back to School Information

The school office will open on Monday, August 13, 2018. Hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Parents may come by to register new pupils in grades TK through 5 at their convenience between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Since our inception of the dual language program in 2013-2014, we have added a grade level to our Dual Lnaguage Program. The time has finally come. We are now transitional kindergarten through fifth grade dual language! This is a very exciting time for our community and stakeholders. Incoming students in grades TK-1st grade will automatically be enrolled in the program. Students in grades 2nd and up will need to have a discussion with the principal in order to make the best possible informed decision for their child. Please call the office for an appointment. In the dual language classes, two teachers, an English speaking teacher and a Spanish speaking teacher, will co-teach all of the pupils in the designated language. Pupils will spend 50% of each school day in each language. We are very excited to continue this program, producing biliterate, 21st century, global citizens!

An orientation for new families and TK/K families will be held on Friday, August 24, at 1:00 pm in the auditorium. Meet the principal and staff, hear about the programs and school policies, and tour the school.

Rosters will be posted on Friday, August 24, at 4:30 pm on the bulletin board outside of the auditorium. Parents are welcome to come by to view their child's classroom assignment over the weekend. Rosters will be posted around the campus on the first day of school, August 27.

Students returning to Juarez do not need to pre-register. Information packets will go home the first week of school with pre-printed enrollment cards with information from last school year. If there are any changes (phone, address, email, etc.), parents will be asked to make those changes on the cards and return them to the school.

Please plan to attend Back To School Night on Wednesday, September 19, at 5:30 pm to meet the staff, hear important information about the school, and visit the Scholastic Book Fair!

All essential instructional materials are provided by the school, but with budget cuts over the last several years, we at Juarez have become very creative and conservative with general school supplies. We are fortunate to be recipients of donations from parents and local businesses. Below you will find a list of items that will make your child's first days at school more comfortable. Additionally, you will find our school "wish list" of general and specialty supplies that would be most appreciated! Lastly, we always appreciate donations of gently used children's clothing and shoes for emergency use, especially under garments and shorts or pants. Thank you for your support!
