Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is held each year in October and commemorates the work of DEA Agent "Kiki" Camarena, who lost his life fighting the war on illegal drugs. Students are informed about the dangers of illegal drugs and alcohol, and pledge to "say no" to them. Many educational and fun activities take place during Red Ribbon Week to help students to learn about a healthy lifestyle that does not include drugs or alcohol. Staff and volunteers organized a week of fun and learning that included wearing a red ribbon daily, a Wear Red Day, taking a pledge to live a drug and alcohol free lifestyle, a Run for Health Relay, and a door decorating contest!
